Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
 

Removing and installing starter, vehicles with double clutch gearbox (DQ200–7F)

Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-
Removing
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth cable from battery -A- → Chapter.
Vehicles with TDI engine
–  Remove air filter housing → Rep. gr.23.
Continued for all vehicles
 

Removing and installing starter, vehicles with double clutch gearbox (DQ200–7F)

–  If fitted, unscrew nut -1- from upper securing bolt of starter -B-.
–  If fitted, remove earth cable -2-.
 

Removing and installing starter, vehicles with double clutch gearbox (DQ200–7F)

–  Disconnect electrical connector -4-.
–  Press off cap -5-.
–  Unscrew nut -6- and remove terminal 30/B+.
–  Remove bolts -1- and -2- from starter -B--3-.
–  Remove starter -B--3- upwards.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:
Specified torques
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - starter“
–  Reconnect battery -A- → Chapter.

Other materials:

Run-flat tyres, PAX, checking
When checking a tyre, look out especially for the following criteria: Surface erosion or ripples on the inner side (inflation pressure was too low or not sufficient for the load)     ...

Without needing to purge refrigerant circuit of contaminants (e.g. damage in an accident); no refrigerant has escaped and no moisture or dirt has entered refrigerant circuit
