| If the automatic distance control unit -J428- is renewed,
start the respective function → Vehicle
diagnostic tester. |
| Special tools and workshop equipment
required |

|
| Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331- |
|
|
|
| – |
Remove adaptive cruise control unit -J428--2-. |
| – |
Disconnect electrical connector -1-. |
| Removing trim for radar sensor |
|
|
|
| – |
Release retaining tabs of trim for radar sensor
-2- on both sides in direction of
arrow -A-. |
| – |
Remove trim for radar sensor -2-
from adaptive cruise control unit -J428--1-. |
| Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the
following: |

Calibrate adaptive cruise control
→ Chapter. |
| → Chapter „Overview of fitting locations – adaptive cruise
control, variant 1“ |

With control unit in dash panel insert -J285-.
Removing and installing
