Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing oil pressure switch -F1-

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
Jointed wrench 24 mm -T40175-
Removing
  Note
Fit all heat insulation sleeves in the original position when installing.
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66.
 

Removing and installing oil pressure switch -F1-

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove heat shield for right drive shaft.
–  Remove heat-shield sleeve.
 

Removing and installing oil pressure switch -F1-

–  Disconnect electrical connector -arrow-.
  Note
Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping engine oil.
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F1-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
The seal cannot be replaced individually.
If removed, oil pressure switch must be renewed.
Screw in new oil pressure switch -F1- immediately in hole to avoid loss of oil.
–  Check oil level → Booklet.
Specified torques
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - oil filter/oil pressure switch“
→ Running gear, axels, steering; Rep. gr.40
