Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing remote release operating mechanism for seat backrest

Removal and installation are described for the left vehicle side. Follow same instructions for the right side as appropriate.
Removing

Removing and installing remote release operating mechanism for seat backrest

–  Pull and hold operating mechanism to remotely release seat backrest -1-.
–  Remove bolt -2-.
–  Unclip remote release operating mechanism for seat backrest -1- from luggage compartment side trim, and swing it out -arrow A-.
–  Release cable support bracket from Bowden cable -3--arrow B-.
–  Push Bowden cable -3- out of cable support bracket of remote release mechanism for seat backrest -1--arrow C-.
–  Detach pin of Bowden cable -3- from handle for remote release mechanism for seat backrest -1-.
–  Remove remote operating mechanism for seat backrest.
Installing
Install in reverse order, but note the following:

Ensure that cable support bracket of Bowden cable -2- is properly seated in locating lugs of remote release operating mechanism for seat backrest -1-.
Specified torques
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - luggage compartment side trim“
