Removal and installation are described for the left vehicle side. Follow same instructions for the right side as appropriate.
Removing
Bowden cable on backrest end
–  Remove rear seat backrest → Chapter.

Removing and installing Bowden cable for remote release mechanism for seat backrest

–  Detach cover and padding only in area of Bowden cable -1- → Chapter.
–  Unclip connecting piece -2- with Bowden cable -1- from backrest frame -arrow A-.
–  Unclip Bowden cable -1- from retainer -arrow B-.
–  Push Bowden cable -1- out of cable support bracket -arrow C- of locking mechanism for rear seat backrest -3-.
–  Detach pin of Bowden cable -1- from release mechanism for rear seat backrest -3-, and remove Bowden cable -1-.
Bowden cable on vehicle end
–  Remove luggage compartment side trim → Chapter.
–  Remove remote release operating mechanism for seat backrest → Chapter.
–  Unclip Bowden cable -1- from retainers -2- on luggage compartment side trim, and remove it.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
