Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing front side window

  WARNING
Always wear safety goggles and leather gloves.
  Note
To cut out the front side window, use the wire reel -VAS 6452/1-.

Removing and installing front side window

–  Pull trim strip (if fitted) out of seal.
Protect surrounding parts against damage.
–  Place cutting cord -2- around front side window -1-.
–  Secure ends of cutting cord with pull handles -V.A.G 1351/1--3-.
–  Cut through adhesive bead with “sawing” motions -arrows- of pull handles -V.A.G 1351/1-.
 
Installing
–  Preparing old undamaged window for glazing → Chapter.
–  Preparing new window for glazing → Chapter.
–  Preparing body flange for glazing → Chapter.
–  Installation instructions → Chapter
–  Minimum curing period → Chapter
