Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing fresh air blower -V2-, LHD vehicles

  Note
If only the fresh air blower -V2- is defective, remove and install fresh air blower control unit -J126- → Chapter.
Removing
Fresh air blower -V2- is accessible from footwell on front passenger side.
–  Remove baffle plate → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect electrical connector -3-.
–  If fitted, unscrew bolt -2-.
–  Lift the locking lug -4- and turn the fresh air blower -1- clockwise -arrow-.
–  Pull the fresh air blower out of the bottom part of the evaporator housing.
Improper handling causes damage to the fresh air blower.Imbalance and disturbances may occur during operation.Avoid applying excessive pressure to the fan wheel.Never change position of the balancing weights on fan wheel.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
–  Read event memory, and clear any entries displayed vehicle diagnostic tester in “Guided fault finding” mode.
–  As a final step, check operation of fresh air blower -V2-.
Specified torque
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - add-on parts of heater and air conditioning unit and of air intake box“
