Removing
–  Remove driver side knee airbag → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.69.
–  Remove left centre console trim in footwell → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.68.
Pyrotechnic components may trigger unintentionally.Risk of injury.Discharge any static charge accumulated in your body by briefly touching striker plate for door.
   
–  Loosen nut -3- and remove earth wire -4-.
Risk of burns on metal surfaces of auxiliary air heater element. The heater elements may become very hot.Risk of burns to the skin.Always wear safety gloves.Never touch the metal surfaces of the heater element.
–  Separate electrical connector -2- by sliding locking element -5- upwards and pressing catch inwards.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
–  Pull auxiliary air heater element -Z35- with auxiliary air heater control unit -J604--1- towards left out of heater and air conditioning unit -6-.
Installing
  Note
Ensure that the earth wire is in proper position and bolted on correctly.
Install in reverse order.
