Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing air intake duct

  Note
The illustration shows a left-hand drive vehicle. The removal and installation procedure is identical for both versions.
   
Removing
–  Remove dash panel central tube → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove dust and pollen filter → Chapter.
–  Disconnect electrical connector -4- and lay wiring harness to one side.
–  Loosen heater and air conditioning unit and pull it slightly towards front.
–  Remove bolts -2-.
–  Release retaining tab -1--arrow A-.
–  Swivel the air intake housing -3- upwards -arrow B- and disengage.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
Specified torques
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - add-on parts of heater and air conditioning unit and of air intake box“
