Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Refrigerant circuit seals
| Moisten seals with refrigerant oil before installing. |
| Ensure proper seating of seals on the pipe or in the groove. |
| Work in a completely clean environment (the smallest
particles, e.g. hair, may already cause leaks). |
Note
|
|
| Use only seals that are resistant to refrigerant R134a and
the associated refrigerant oil. These seals are marked in colour
to prevent them from being interchanged (currently “red”,
“purple” or “violet”)
→ Electronic Parts Catalogue. |
| The dimensions -a- and
-b- vary, depending on the fitting
locations of the seal
→ Electronic Parts Catalogue. |
| In addition to the coloured seals, black seals are also used
during production for certain connections. |
|
|
|
Repairs requiring the opening of the refrigerant circuit
must only be carried out by specially trained personnel.
