Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Identification plates
There are different types of identification plates. |
When the auxiliary heater is replaced, check the type plate
and the duplicate plate and replace as necessary. |

The date of first use is entered on the lower section of the
data plate. |
The year the unit was first brought into operation must be
entered on the “Genuine part” identification plate. |

In the engine compartment of the vehicle, there is a second
(duplicate) identification plate attached to the right of the
lock carrier (when looking in direction of travel). If there is
any doubt concerning the type of the auxiliary heater, always
observe the identification plate attached directly to the
auxiliary heater. |
