For some versions the exhaust system may have to be
detached and the heat shield may have to be pushed aside. |

Remove bumper cover
→ Chapter. |

Pull off locking element -7- on release
lever -6--arrow a-. |

Pull release lever -6- off Bowden cable
-2--arrow b-. |

Pull Bowden cable -3- out of lock
carrier trim. |

Thread Bowden cable -2- out of guide
-8--arrow c-. |
| – |
Pull Bowden cable together with grommet -3-
out of vehicle. |

Pull towing bracket -1- in a parallel
movement out of longitudinal members. |
| – |
Installation is carried out in reverse order. |
 DANGER!
| The bolts -4- function as plugs
and seal the passenger compartment against exhaust fumes, and
must without exception be installed. |

| Ensure that grommet -3- on Bowden cable
is properly secured in cross panel. |

Perform functional check after installation of towing bracket. |
