  Note
  •   Minor differences will be encountered on removal and installation, depending on version.
  •   For some versions the exhaust system may have to be detached and the heat shield may have to be pushed aside.
   

Removing and installing towing bracket

–  Remove bumper cover → Chapter.
–  Pull off locking element -7- on release lever -6--arrow a-.
–  Pull release lever -6- off Bowden cable -2--arrow b-.
–  Pull Bowden cable -3- out of lock carrier trim.
–  Thread Bowden cable -2- out of guide -8--arrow c-.
–  Pull Bowden cable together with grommet -3- out of vehicle.
–  Remove bolts -5-.
–  Pull towing bracket -1- in a parallel movement out of longitudinal members.
 
Installing

–  Installation is carried out in reverse order.
  DANGER!
The bolts -4- function as plugs and seal the passenger compartment against exhaust fumes, and must without exception be installed.
Ensure that grommet -3- on Bowden cable is properly secured in cross panel.
–  Perform functional check after installation of towing bracket.
