Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
  Special pop rivet pliers -V.A.G 1753B-
  Hand drill
  Safety goggles
Removing
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Secure front seat on seat repair stand → Chapter.
–  Remove backrest cover and backrest padding → Chapter.
 

Removing and installing lumbar support adjustment motor -V125-/-V126-/-V129-/-V130-

–  Release and pull off connectors -1 and 2- on motors.
  WARNING
Risk of eye injury.
Wear eye protection.
–  Drill out rivet -3-.
Vehicles with entry assistance
–  Cut through cable tie for Bowden cable for backrest release mechanism.
 

Removing and installing lumbar support adjustment motor -V125-/-V126-/-V129-/-V130-

Continued for all vehicles
–  Swing lumbar support -1- at bottom towards front.
–  Detach lumbar support -1- on top from backrest frame -2--arrows- and remove it.
Installing
Install in reverse order, but note the following:
–  Attach lumbar support -1- on top to backrest frame -2--arrows- and swing toward rear at bottom.
–  Rivet lumbar support to backrest frame.
Specified torques
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - front backrest“
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - front seat“
