Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing door arrester

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removal and installation are only described for the left door retaining strap. The right side is similar.

Removing and installing door arrester

–  Remove rear door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Pull off self-adhesive cover.
  For models without loudspeaker pull off self-adhesive cover and remove door retaining strap through opening for loudspeaker -arrow c-.
  For models with loudspeaker detach inner door cover → Chapter and remove through this opening.
–  Unscrew bolt -2- on B-pillar.
–  Remove screws -3- and remove door retaining strap -1-.

 
Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
Specified torques
