Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing connecting Bowden cable

Removing
–  Remove backrest cover and backrest padding → Chapter.
   
–  Swing mounting bracket for backrest release mechanism -1- upwards as far as stop -arrow- and hold it in this position.
–  Detach connecting Bowden cable -3- from mounting bracket.
–  Swing operating lever -2- upwards as far as stop.
–  Detach connecting Bowden cable from operating lever and remove it.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Specified torques
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - front backrest“
  → Chapter „Assembly overview - front seat“
