Always adhere to the following procedure!

Note

The vehicle must always be in unladen condition when measuring wheel alignment → Chapter.

–	Take note of the information in the wheel alignment unit.

Alignment procedure


Start			→	Carry out wheel run-out compensation.	→	Bounce springs.
						↓
Turn steering wheel to straight-ahead position and fix in place → Remark.			←	Measure vehicle height.	←	Fit brake pedal depressor -V.A.G 1869/2-

Check front axle camber			→	Is actual value within tolerance?	→	No
				↓		↓
	↓	←	←	Yes		Adjust → Chapter.

Check rear axle camber			→	Is actual value within tolerance?	→	No

Check rear axle toe			→	Is actual value within tolerance?	→	No

¹⁾	If steering wheel is not centred, it must be straightened after wheel alignment is finished. Then carry out basic setting for steering angle sender -G85- using → Vehicle diagnostic tester.

Note

If adjustments have been made to the suspension after a wheel alignment check on vehicles with ESP or ABS, the steering angle sender -G85- must be calibrated using the → Vehicle diagnostic tester.

If any changes are made to the rear wheel alignment settings, the following driver assist systems must be recalibrated:

Lane departure warning (Audi lane assist) → Chapter „Calibrating front camera for driver assist systems“,

ACC → Chapter „Calibrating adaptive cruise control (ACC), except for e-Golf“.
