Note
Removal and installation are described for the left
vehicle side. Follow same instructions for the right side as
appropriate. |
Special tools and workshop equipment
required |

Wedges -T10383 |
– |
Remove rear seat backrest
→ Chapter. |
– |
Remove sill strip
→ Chapter. |
– |
Unclip side trim panel -1- from upper
B-pillar trim and C-pillar trim -2-. |
– |
Starting at front, release side trim panel -1-
in area of clips from body mountings -arrows-
using wedge -T10383-. |
– |
If fitted, disconnect connector on button for deactivating interior
monitoring and vehicle inclination sensor -E616- and remove side trim
panel -1-. |
Note

Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and
renew if necessary. |

Following installation, ensure that the side trim
panel is positioned in the door seal beading. |
Install in reverse order, but note the following: |

Insert retaining clips into side trim panel. |

Caution
Before installing side trim panel, ensure that the locking
mechanisms of all clips are in
-position 1-. |
It is not possible to install the side panel trim without
problem if clips are in -position 2-. |

Leaks or internal damage (e.g. noises or lack of power)
