Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing right vent temperature sender -G151

Vehicle diagnostic tester
Removing
  Note
Only on vehicles with Climatronic. On vehicles with heater or air conditioning system with electric/manual controls, the apertures in the air ducts are sealed with plugs.
The illustration shows a left-hand drive vehicle. The procedure is identical.
–  Remove dash panel end cover → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
   
–  Turn vent temperature sender -1- in -direction of arrow- and pull it out of mounting.
–  Disconnect electrical connector -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:

–  Renew seal -3- if damaged or defective.
  Note
An incorrectly installed vent temperature sender will cause flow noise.
–  As a final step, read event memory, and erase any entries displayed using vehicle diagnostic tester in “Guided fault finding” mode.
Specified torque
Dash panel; Removing and installing dash panel end cover → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70
