Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing lower seat pan frame with seat longitudinal
adjustment motor -V28-/-V31-

If possible, move front seat to highest position to reduce
as much tension on torsion rod as possible. |

Remove front seat
→ Chapter. |

Remove front belt buckle
→ Chapter. |
– |
Disconnect connector on seat longitudinal adjustment motor. |
– |
Unclip wire from lower seat pan frame and lay it to one
side. |

Caution
Risk of damage to threaded holes or bushes in the
bearing locations (threaded connection of upper and
lower seat pan frame). |

Bolt -3- has a
left-hand thread. |

|
In order to unscrew the bolts mentioned below a
second mechanic must slightly press down the seat
via the backrest. |

Remove seat pan -1- from lower
frame -4-. |
|
|
|
Caution
Risk of damage to bushes -1-
in the bearing locations -2-
(threaded connection of lower frame and seat pan). |
|
The bushes cannot be replaced using workshop
equipment. |
|
If the bushes are damaged, renew lower seat pan
frame. |
|
Installation is carried out in reverse order. |
|

Note
The handle for seat height adjustment can be renewed with
front seat installed.
