Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing front body acceleration senders -G341-/-G342-

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
Torque wrench -V.A.G 1410-
Removing
–  Pull seal off entire length of plenum chamber cover.
–  Detach clips
 

Removing and installing front body acceleration senders -G341-/-G342-

–  Lift plenum chamber cover -1- not more than 60 mm.
a -  60 mm
 

Removing and installing front body acceleration senders -G341-/-G342-

–  Release electrical connector -1- and pull off.
–  Remove bolt -2-.
–  Remove front body acceleration sender.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

–  Insert front body acceleration sender-1- so that connector -arrow- points to rear (opposite to normal direction of travel).
–  Tighten bolt -2- for front body acceleration sender-1-.
Installation position: angle tolerance -a- is ±10°. Installation position of front body acceleration sender may deviate by this angle along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
–  Perform basic setting of wheel damper electronics → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
