Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing dash panel end cover

  Note
Removal and installation is described for the dash panel end cover on driver side. Follow same instructions for the front passenger side as appropriate.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
   

Removal wedge -3409

Removing
–  Lever off dash panel end cover -1- using removal wedge -3409-.
–  If fitted, disconnect connector on key operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224-.
–  Pull cover towards rear out of A-pillar gap cover and remove it.
Installing
  Note
Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and renew if necessary.
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
