Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Cleaning injectors

Special tools and workshop equipment required
Ultrasonic cleaner -VAS 6418-
Mounting plate for injection modules -VAS 6418/1-
Cleaning fluid → Electronic Parts Catalogue
  Note
   
The ultrasonic unit must be filled with cleaning agent to upper edge of holes (see detail).
Comply with safety regulations and instructions for ultrasonic unit.
 

Cleaning injectors

Cleaning
–  Remove injectors → Chapter.
–  Insert injectors -1- all the way into mounting plate for injection modules -VAS 6418/1--item 2-.
–  Immerse injectors together with mounting plate for injection modules -VAS 6418/1- into cleaning fluid -VAS 6418/2-.
–  Set rotary knob -4- to a temperature of 50°C.
–  Set cleaning time to 30 minutes with rotary knob -5-.
–  Switch on ultrasonic unit with button -3-.
  Note
The time set starts to elapse as soon as a cleaning temperature of 50°C has been reached.
–  After cleaning, renew combustion chamber ring seal for each injector → Chapter.
