Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Calibrating adaptive cruise control

The adaptive cruise control unit -J428- needs to be
calibrated if the following conditions apply: |
| Adaptive cruise control unit -J428- has been removed and
then reinstalled or it has been renewed. |
| Bumping against adaptive cruise control unit -J428- due to
incautious installation of front bumper cover. |
| Front bumper cover has been damaged as a result of a
rear-end collision or similar. |
| Front bumper cover has been removed and then reinstalled of
it has been renewed. |
| Rear axle toe has been adjusted. |
Note
| Excessive horizontal adjustment of the adaptive cruise
control unit -J428- results in permanent deactivation of the
functions ACC/front scan system. In this case, the following
message appears in the dash panel insert -KX2-:
ACC/front scan system not available. |
| Limited sensor functionality due to soiling or weather
conditions such as heavy rain, snowfall, sensor icing etc.
results in a temporary non-availability of the functions
ACC/front scan system. In this case, the following message
appears in the dash panel insert -KX2-:
ACC/front scan system: no sensor data. |

→ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.44. |

Remove adaptive cruise control unit -J428-
→ Chapter.
