Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing guide plate

Removing
 

Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-

  Note

Removing and installing guide plate

–  Remove moulded headliner → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove glass panel → Chapter.
–  Mark the position -4- of the guide rails -1- on assembly frame -3-.
–  Remove bolts -2-.
 
     

Removing and installing guide plate

–  Low guide rails -1- at rear -arrow a-.
–  Pull guide rails -1- off assembly carrier -2-, keeping them parallel with each other -arrow b-.
  Note
Do not twist or bend the guide rails and securing bracket as there is no strut in the front area.
 
Installing

–  Push guide rails -1- into assembly carrier -2-, keeping them parallel to each other.
–  Fit guide rails -1- on assembly frame at rear.

Removing and installing guide plate

–  Insert bolts -2- and tighten slightly.
–  Align guide rails -1- in accordance with the marking made previously -6-.
–  Tighten bolts -2-.
–  Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

  Guide rails → Chapter „Assembly overview - sliding sunroof“
