First read and observe the introductory information
and safety warnings
The area monitoring system (Front Assist) is automatically active once the ignition is switched on .
The prior warning and distance warning are automatically deactivated when Front Assist is deactivated.
Volkswagen recommends that Front Assist is switched on at all times. Exceptions .
Activating and deactivating the area monitoring system
- Using the button for driver assist systems, select the corresponding menu option .
- OR: activate or deactivate the system using the
button and the
and Driver assistance function buttons in the
infotainment system .
Activating and deactivating advanced warning
The advanced warning can be activated or deactivated using the

Driver assistance function buttons in the infotainment system .
The system also retains the programmed setting when the ignition is next switched on.
Volkswagen recommends that the advance warning system is switched on at all times.
