  WARNING
Ensure backrest is locked in position (default position), otherwise it can tilt forwards in an uncontrolled manner.
–  Remove backrest cover and backrest padding → Chapter.
   
Following conditions must be fulfilled when adjusting:
  Backrest release mechanism -2- is at lower stop (backrest locked in position).
 

Adjusting Bowden cable for backrest release mechanism

–  Swing mounting bracket for backrest release mechanism -1- upwards until distance -a- = 2 … 4 mm exists between stop surface of backrest frame -arrow A- and stop of mounting bracket -arrow B-.
–  Locate mounting bracket for backrest release mechanism in this position, e.g. with an angled metal rod.
  Adjusting Bowden cable for backrest release mechanism
–  Adjust Bowden cables on both Bowden cable adjusters -1 and 2-.
–  Turn upper part of adjuster -3- and lower part of adjuster -4- in opposite directions to each other in order to adjust Bowden cables.
–  Adjust Bowden cables so that there is no play and they are free of stress.
  Note
  The figure shows only one side of latch.
 

Adjusting Bowden cable for backrest release mechanism

  Bowden cables -1- must not be preloaded on backrest release mechanism -2- when adjusting.
–  Perform functional check of backrest release mechanism after adjusting Bowden cables.
–  Check routing of Bowden cable or readjust cable if locking mechanism does not release or only partially releases.
