Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual / General body repairs, interior / Pasanger protection / Front passenger side airbag / Removing and installing key-operated switch to deactivate front passenger airbag

Removing

–	Switch off ignition.

–	Remove side dash panel cover → Chapter.

–	Press locking detent -1- in -direction of arrow- until connector disengages.

–	Pull off connector -2-.

–	Release retaining springs -3- and -5-.

–	Push key operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224--item 4- out of housing for key operated switch.

Installing

Install in reverse order, but note the following:

Note

Ensure that the electrical connectors are pushed fully onto stop and engage audibly.
Ensure that no wires are trapped.

–	Ensure that key operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224- audibly engages in housing.

Specified torques
