Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing fresh air blower - V2-, RHD vehicles

  Note
If only the fresh air blower -V2- is defective, remove and install fresh air blower control unit -J126- → Chapter.
Removing
–  Remove baffle plate → Chapter.
–  Remove glove compartment → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.68.
–  Removing footwell vent on front passenger side → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect electrical connectors.
–  Remove bolts -2-.
–  Unclip retaining tabs -arrows-.
–  Remove fresh air blower -V2--1-downwards -in direction of arrow-.
Improper handling causes damage to the fresh air blower.Imbalance and disturbances may occur during operation.Avoid applying excessive pressure to the fan wheel.Never change position of the balancing weights on fan wheel.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:
–  Push fresh air blower -V2- onto centring pins -3-.
–  Read event memory, and clear any entries displayed vehicle diagnostic tester in “Guided fault finding” mode.
–  As a final step, check operation of fresh air blower -V2-.
Specified torque
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - add-on parts of heater and air conditioning unit and of air intake box“
