Assembly overview - toothed belt, engine codes CPTA, CHPA, CZEA, CZDA

1 -  Toothed belt
Before removing, mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt-tipped marker pen.
Check for wear
Removing → Chapter
Installing (adjusting valve timing), CPTA, CZEA → Anchor
Installing (adjusting valve timing), CHPA, CZDA → Anchor
2 -  Bolt
25 Nm
3 -  Tensioning roller
Removal and installation involve removing engine support → Chapter.
4 -  Bolt
Renew
8 Nm + 45°
5 -  Cap
6 -  Bolt
Renew
50 Nm + 135°
7 -  Exhaust camshaft toothed belt pulley
With camshaft adjuster
Removing and installing camshaft adjuster → Chapter.
8 -  Guide sleeve
9 -  Inlet camshaft toothed belt pulley
With camshaft adjuster
Removing and installing camshaft adjuster → Chapter.
10 -  Bolt
Renew
50 Nm + 135°
11 -  O-ring
Renew
12 -  Plug
20 Nm
Renew
13 -  Spacer sleeve
With O-ring.
Renew O-ring.
14 -  Idler pulley
15 -  Bolt
45 Nm
16 -  Crankshaft pulley
Contact surface between toothed belt pulley and crankshaft must be free from oil
Fitting possible in one position only.
Plug for “TDC” drilling in cylinder block - specified torque
  Note
Renew O-ring if damaged.
–  Tighten bolt -arrow- to 30 Nm.
