Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Anti-corrosion wax
Anti-corrosion wax -AKR 321 M15 4- |
Anti-corrosion wax -AKR 321 M16 10- |
Anti-corrosion wax -AKR 321 M15 4- and anti-corrosion wax
-AKR 321 M16 10- are aerosol wax-based rust-protection agents. |
The film which remains after drying is strongly adhesive,
tough, plastic, water-repellent and nearly colourless. |
The flow point of the dry substance is over +100 °C, meaning
that running or dripping is unlikely even in the engine
compartment. |
The dry film adheres well to untreated and painted surfaces. |
Used for preserving seams, surfaces and cavities of
vehicles. |
Its light colour makes it especially suitable for protecting
seams on the bonnet and in the boot. |
The material is also preferred for preserving the cleaned
engine compartment. |
Note
Before using, read the safety measures and recommendations
in the safety data sheet. |
Even for products which are not required by law to be
labelled, the usual safety measures for chemical products must
be observed. |
– |
The parts to be treated with anti-corrosion wax should be
cleaned and dried thoroughly beforehand, and any rust must be
removed. |
– |
Shake the can well before use. Spray on anti-corrosion wax
and allow it to dry. Do not apply to visible exterior surfaces
because the dry film has a flat appearance. |
Caution
If engine compartments of vehicles or other
equipment are treated with sealant, the engines should
not be switched on until the protective wax film has
been allowed to dry thoroughly. (Danger of explosion due
to evaporating solvents) |
