Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing throttle valve module -GX3-

Throttle valve module -GX3- consists of
Throttle valve module -J338-
Throttle valve drive for electronic power control -G186-
Throttle valve drive angle sender 1 for electronic power control -G187-
Throttle valve drive angle sender 2 for electronic power control -G188-
Removing
–  Move clear air hoses at charge air pipe.
   
–  Release fasteners -arrows- using release tools -T10527- and -T10527/1-.
–  Remove air pipe -1-.
 

Removing and installing throttle valve module -GX3-

–  Open hose clips -arrows- and detach air duct -1-.
 

Removing and installing throttle valve module -GX3-

–  Disconnect electrical connector -3-.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove throttle valve module -GX3--1- with adapter -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  After throttle valve control module -GX3- has been renewed, it must be re-adapted to engine control unit -J623-. To do this, use vehicle diagnostic tester.
Specified torques
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - intake manifold“
